SOA Information Model Publicly Available 

The Value Chain Group, Inc (VCG) is pleased to announce that Semantion, author of the VCG SOA Information Model (SOA-IM) specification, is providing the SOA-IM to the VCG as a publicly available open source document. Semantion, the creator of the SOA Information Model (SOA-IM) and SOA Virtual Machine (SOA-VM), is the first vendor to offer a business process semantics-based SOA architectural framework.

The SOA-IM is a specification based on the Federated Enterprise Reference Architecture (FERA). SOA-IM enables executable process definition in a service-oriented information exchange environment. SOA-IM defines all entities and their associations required to represent any collaborative process of any complexity involving people and information systems in both synchronous and asynchronous information processing mode.

Goran Zugic, CTO of Semantion, is the co-author of the SOA-IM specification. As SOA-IM knowledge expert, Goran assumes the role of VCG SOA-IM Architect. “The integrated model-based framework brings together Business Architecture and the SOA Virtual Machine for rapid process development and transformation. Key elements of this are closed loop continuous improvement methodology, solution deployment methodology and model-based environments that are publicly available through the VCG (VRM, XRM’s, SOA-IM)” states Mr. Zugic.
